Innovative Marketing in the Cannabis Industry: Insight by GreenFingaz Farm

Cannabis intake has increased exponentially in recent years, now surpassing daily alcohol use. In fact, there are 20 times more cannabis users now than there were back in the early 1990s!

While cannabis has always had its advocates, the marketing strategies that have been implemented have transformed its image. People who may have never thought about using it have come to understand its many benefits, including but not limited to the ability to ease the symptoms of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder - three conditions that have become widespread issues for millions of people.

The bottom line is that the marketing used within the cannabis industry has caused it to go mainstream. No one understands this growth more than the creative minds behind GreenFingaz Farmz

This blog will explore their insight into their innovative marketing used in the cannabis industry, including challenges they’ve faced and continue to overcome, to be a leader in this rapidly growing (and no pun intended) industry.

About GreenFingaz Farmz

Before they were GreenFingaz Farm, they were CaliDutch Inc. - a collaboration between legacy farmers in California and Holland.

After four years of building a company with a blend of old-school farming techniques and Dutch technology, the company was changed to GreenFingaz Farmz, now operated by CEO, Johnny GreenFingaz and President, Elizabeth Benney, both of whom are familiar faces around the Pescadero area (Johnny is regularly recognized by his trademark tattoos and green ensembles).

These old-school farming and Dutch cultivation methods refer mainly to temperature and humidity control. As anyone in the cannabis industry knows, inadequate temps can result in poor production quality, and sometimes even lead to total crop failure. A big no-no for successful cannabis cultivation! Today, GreenFingaz Farmz does all its crop production from a 52,000-square-foot outdoor greenhouse located on the Gold Coast of Northern California.

This greenhouse is a modern marvel with built-in, in-floor heat pipes that work together with the automatic ridge vents to release unwanted humidity. In fact, it’s this innovative greenhouse and related technologies, including automated blackout operation, watering, and ridge vent position, that allows GreenFingaz Farmz to harvest 52 weeks a year. Production like this isn’t usually possible without using more advanced, modern systems, but GreenFingaz Farmz in Pescadero, California, is proving otherwise. There’s a reason why they’re leading the pack in terms of cutting-edge cannabis cultivation throughout the United States!

Creating a Successful Cannabis Marketing Campaign and Getting the Word Out

As briefly mentioned above, cannabis usage is on the rise with plenty of people across the U.S. incorporating it into their lives for the very first time because they’re seeing the benefits of it. For those who aren’t using it or are looking for new suppliers, getting the word out requires strategy - a marketing strategy, that is.

Connecting With Their Roots

Between the benefits of cannabis usage and the innovative technologies GreenFingaz Farmz uses to cultivate their crops, marketing campaigns must be used to get the word out beyond San Mateo County. However, as GreenFingaz Farmz strongly advocated, spreading the word starts with highlighting their homegrown nature.

Besides its proximity to the Pacific Ocean and many gorgeous state parks, Pescadero, California is known for being part of the state’s rich and diverse rural and farming community. Naturally, the minds at GreenFingaz Farm wanted to incorporate the community’s passion for farming and sustainability, hiring local residents and continually sourcing supplies from local vendors.

For GreenFingaz Farmz, “Grown best out West '' isn't just a motto - it’s a reflection of the quality farming reputation this rural California town is known for, even way back, when cannabis was solely grown for medicinal purposes.

The High Life

That being said, a little media exposure didn’t hurt. In early 2024, it was announced that GreenFingaz Farmz would be featured in Outlaw TV’s new series, High Science

The show - created by David McKillop and Ed Leclere - will introduce “...colorful cannabis pioneers [who are] trailblazing the modern-day gold rush, through enlightened, humorous and entertaining storytelling.”

Overcoming Challenges

Of course, marketing campaigns are not without their challenges. According to Johnny, the biggest challenge has been - and continues to be - combating the false information that’s out there, which can make people afraid to use the cannabis products they likely need. “Cannabis is first and foremost, a medical tool used to help millions who suffer from a range of health conditions,” GreenFingaz says, “We educate the masses on the importance and benefits of cannabis used as medicine.”

As it stands, cannabis has been found to help combat nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy treatment and reduce the symptoms of chronic pain. These are taken straight from the National Library of Medicine. Combating misinformation, while also complying with both state and local authorities has been a priority for the cannabis industry as a whole - and GreenFingaz Farmz is no different.

As the industry continues to grow, however, they have a plan on how to move forward: continue to be ambassadors of truth: “This plant helps so many individuals who have suffered needlessly for such a long time. Let the people who are suffering know there is help out there and [that] we can help them to find solutions other than prescribing medication that is much more addictive and harmful to the users.”
